Pediatric Acupuncture

Using a style of Pediatric Acupuncture called Shonishin - Shoni meaning Child or Young, and Shin meaning Needle - I am able to treat Babies, Children & Adolescents for a variety of ailments. Small Japanese Tools (instruments) are used on the skin to assist Youngsters from a few months old into their teenage years.

Trained in Boston by Master Kuwahara Sensei, L.Ac., renowned for his Pediatric Techniques, I treat the following common complaints:

• Stomach & GI complaints, including Food sensitivities
• Difficulty sleeping/other Sleep concerns, dreams, etc.
• Respiratory conditions: Asthma, Coughing, Colds & Flus
• Learning &  Focusing: Autism & ADHD
• Emotions & Bonding: Colic in Babies, Anxiety & Fear
• Behavioral: Hyperactivity as well as Lack of Energy
• Tourette’s syndrome

The Tools that I use are gently rubbed on the Energetic pathways (used in Adult treatments as well) but children do not feel the sensation of a needle point - because no needles are used. These Non-Insertive techniques using specific Tools are as simple as rubbing & tapping. Movement of energy and blood flow are comfortable for children and Parents are at ease with these gentle techniques.
